The section of Market Street from the railroad tracks in front of the Goody Goody Omelet House, 3817 Market St., Wilmington [Map this], to the end of the curb and gutter in front of Toyota of Wilmington, 5640 Market St., Wilmington [Map this], “is currently under contract and was supposed to be completed by Nov. 18,” 2011, said Alton Edgerton, N.C. Department of Transportation Division 3 staff engineer.

“Due to an issue involving Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, the work will probably not be completed until May 2012,” Edgerton said.

The section of Market Street from the end of curb and gutter in front of the Toyota dealership to Old Oak Road just north of Bayshore Drive, is tentatively scheduled to be resurfaced in 2014, he said.

“There are no plans to install curb and gutter in association with either of these resurfacing projects,” Edgerton said.
