Maj. Ryan “Rider” Corrigan, Viper East F-16 demonstration pilot, did fly an F-16 at the Coastal Carolina Air Show on April 17, 2011, after the show was postponed from Saturday, April 16, to the following day.

Perhaps the confusion comes from the use of the word “team” in the description. Only one F-16 is used for the demonstration, Corrigan explained, but the Viper East Team consists of Corrigan and eight others who keep the plane running. Without the other members of the team to keep the plane in good shape, Corrigan said, he wouldn’t be able to pilot the plane.
