The N.C. Department of Transportation is nearing completion of a planning and finance study for the I-95 corridor, department spokeswoman Tammy Stewart said in April 2011.
“This study should be complete by late summer. A variety of financing options are evaluated in the study, including an evaluation of tolling. No decision to move forward with a toll concept has been made at this point,” Stewart said.
“If there is a decision to move forward with tolling, toll plazas would not be placed only at each end of the state. There would be toll collection points at various places along the entire corridor,” she added.
