For this answer, we turn to Tara Duckworth, director of parks and gardens for New Hanover County.
“1215 Middle Sound Loop Rd. is a 5-acre parcel purchased by New Hanover County in 2016 to connect with a 17+ acre parcel bordering Pages Creek that the County acquired through its Tidal Creeks Program in 2002. The combined parcels will be established as the Pages Creek Park Preserve. (New Hanover County) NHC Park Preserves enable environmental education and nature programs, promote biodiversity and open space preservation, allow for monitoring wildlife populations, assist in restoring habitats for endangered and threatened plant species, conserve natural communities, and offer passive outdoor recreation opportunities compatible with the protection of the natural area. You can find out more about NHC Park Preserves at https://parks.nhcgov.com/park-preserves/.”
