What was the name of College Road before its current name?

Ken Little

A 1937 New Hanover County map refers to the street as Winter Park Road, said Joseph Sheppard, a library associate at the New Hanover County Public Library’s main branch.

The Winter Park neighborhood was developed in the early 1900s. It’s unclear when the street was renamed to College Road, but ground was broken in 1961 for the University of North Carolina Wilmington College Road campus.
