What are plans for a traffic signal on Long Beach Road by Beach Road Baptist Church?

There are no plans for a traffic signal to be installed on Long Beach Road in front of the Beach Road Baptist Church.

According to Brian Rick, a spokesman for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the intersection of N.C. 133 and Faith Boulevard was previously evaluated to determine the need for a traffic signal.

A letter from the NCDOT states that “due to current roadway configurations, the department cannot recommend the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of N.C. 133 and Faith Boulevard at this time. However, if Faith Boulevard and North Hampton Drive, located to the northeast of Faith Boulevard, are realigned to create a four-leg intersection, the Department would consider signalization” depending on whether funding becomes available for the project.
