Can you tell me more about the lake north of Murrayville Road, southeast of I-40 and 140? Who owns it and will it be developed?

Tim Buckland

For this answer, we turned to the New Hanover County Planning Department.

Ben Andrea, current planning and zoning supervisor, said the lake was created as material was mined out for construction of Interstate 140.

“The property is owned by a Trask land holding company. At this time, our office has not received any plans or preliminary proposals for the development of the property,” he said.
