When is construction expected to begin on North Waterfront Park and when might it be open?

Hunter Ingram

The Wilmington City Council adopted the North Waterfront Park master plan, which locks in 10 essentials features of the park. Among them are a performance stage, extensive lawns, gardens, a playground and splash plaza.

The next step, according to Parks and Recreation community director Amy Beatty, is to hire a designer to flesh out the conceptual plan and determine every inch of the park’s layout. Then, it would go back before the city council before any work can be done.

The master plan includes no start date for construction or completion date.
