Will the section of the Leland causeway between the diverging diamond interchange and the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge approaches include lights when completed?

Q. Will the section of the Leland causeway between the diverging diamond interchange and the Cape Fear Bridge approaches also include lighting when completed? Currently new lights are being installed on the approaches and at the Leland interchange but that will leave a large gap on the causeway without some form of illumination. Does the NCDOT plan to light that section as well?

A. There are no current plans “to light the section of the causeway as (described),” said N.C. Department of Transportation Division 3 construction engineer Kevin G. Bowen.

“It has not been a part of the scope for this project from the beginning, to my knowledge,” Bowen said.
