What is being built in front of Marsh Oaks Subdivision in Porters Neck?

Hunter Ingram

In front of the Marsh Oaks subdivision crews are working on one of the region’s first Aldi grocery stores.

Sam Burgess, a senior planner with the county, confirmed the project is moving steadily forward, but there is no official date for when construction will be complete.

The store is the third store Aldi has announced for the region, with others planned for College Road in Wilmington and Leland.

Aldi has said it plans to open all three stores in 2017.
