When is construction planned on the Kerr Avenue and Martin Luther King Parkway interchange?

Ken Little

Q. A new interchange is planned at Kerr Ave and Martin Luther King Parkway. Is it part of the current widening construction? If not, when is the scheduled start and completion?

A. The interchange project is separate from the current widening project along Kerr Avenue, said David B. Leonard, N.C. Department of Transportation Division 3 design engineer.

Construction on the interchange project is scheduled to begin in late 2019, Leonard said.

“The design is moving forward, but we are very early in the process at this time,” he said.
