The space will soon be a new Phoenix Mart, a convenience store with a twist: a built-in tap room.
The concept will be similar to a small pub with eight craft domestic beers on tap as well as a patio with outdoor seating, said W. Cecil Worsley III, CEO of the Springer Eubank Company, which sells petroleum products and has ventured into the convenience store business.
The store will also include a Jimmy John’s sandwich shop.
“We are thrilled to have this new development on such a prominent corner,” said Hill Rogers, a broker at Cameron Management, which invested in the property. “This is another incremental and important step in the continuing redevelopment of the 17th Street corridor.”
The store is planned to open by October.
