Does Brunswick County require a permit to own a miniature pig or backyard chickens?

According to Brunswick County Animal Control, no permit is required in Brunswick County. But Brunswick County has 19 municipalities and if you live within the boundaries of one, you’ll need to follow its regulations. Amanda Hutcheson, public information officer with Brunswick County, also advised to check with any homeowners association if applicable when inquiring about chickens and pet miniature pigs.
