Are there any long-term plans to improve traffic conditions at the intersection of South College Road and Oleander Drive?

The N.C. Department of Transportation updates its major projects, each categorized as a State Transportation Improvement Program, every two years.

“We are in the middle of doing this (and) will have the new update by June 2017,” said Patrick Riddle, NCDOT District 3 engineer.

Riddle said projects are planned on College Road, including one focusing on the intersection of South College Road and Oleander Drive, but funding must be secured before work begins.

That project does “have potential to become funded in the next STIP,” Riddle said.
