Q. What is the timeline for extending Wilmington’s Cross-City Trail on Randall Parkway to South College Road?

A. A section of the Gary Shell Cross-City Trail that runs along Randall Parkway in Wilmington ends just before the southwest corner of the intersection of Randall and South Kerr Avenue. Eventually, the trail will continue east along Randall to South College Road.

The extension will be built by the N.C. Department of Transportation as part of the Kerr Avenue widening project, said Amy Beatty, the city’s parks and recreation superintendent. DOT will have equipment in the area for that project.

It should begin later this year and last three years, Beatty said.
