What is the crime rate for the towns of Carolina and Kure Beach?

The overall crime rate in Carolina Beach for 2013 is 4,497.22 per 100,000 people.

The FBI keeps track of crime rates in Carolina Beach, but not Kure Beach. The latest numbers reflect statistics from 2013. Statistics and crime rates in Carolina Beach from 2014 will be released later this year.

Police responded to 11 violent incidents in total, with 10 aggravated assaults, no murders and one rape in 2013, according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report.

With a reported population of 5,937, this would make the violent crime rate in Carolina Beach 185.27 per 100,000 people.

As for property crime, Carolina Beach reported 256 total crimes, with 181 thefts, 67 burglaries and eight car thefts. There were no arsons reported in 2013.

The property crime rate in Carolina Beach 4,311.94 per 100,000 people.
