Q. What’s up with the terrible odor from Bradley Creek pump station? It stinks and appears to be leaking waste. What about the enviroment? The water at the marina bubbles continuously when its warm and low tide.
A. The Northeast Inceptor Rehabilitation Project has been taking place along Greenville Loop Road for the last few months, said Mike McGill, spokesman for the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.
“Because of the work, we were not conducting chemical dosing at our normal levels, which dissipates the smells at Bradley Creek PS,” McGill said.
The rehab work has been completed, chemical dosing at and around the site has resumed and carbon filters are operating now.
“We will have the levels checked and should have them back in line with normal operations within the next two weeks,” he said.
