The State of North Carolina requires all children who attend public schools to receive and be up-to-date on the following vaccinations, according to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services:
- Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis
- Polio
- Measles
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Haemophilus Influenzae type B (Hib)
- Hepatitis B (Hep B)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
The following vaccines are recommended, but not required:
- Hepatitis A
- Influenza
- Rotavirus
- Human Papillomavirus
