What is the green PVC pipe being buried between Porters Neck and Hampstead?

Lydia Coutre

Pluris Hampstead, LLC is installing 36,225 linear feet of 12-inch sewer force main that reduces down to 10 inches.

The project runs along U.S. 17 from Sidbury Road to Topsail High School.

“We’re installing a half-million gallon a day wastewater treatment plant,” said Randy Hoffer, regional manager for Pluris Hampstead, LLC.

That green PVC pipe will be the sewer force main that will bring that flow down to Sidbury Road where the plant will be.

The project should be done by mid-summer.
