Our best resource is the N.C. Hospital Association, which does not include every hospital in the state, but does include 128 facilities.
Of 128 NCHA members, 98 are not-for-profit, said Julie Henry, NCHA spokeswoman. That’s nearly 77 percent of them. Twenty-four are for-profit or investor-owned and six hospitals are state or federally operated.
