Where is the best pedestrian crosswalk for crossing Oleander Drive near Hugh MacRae Park?

Cecil Hester
StarNews

There is no pedestrian crossing of Oleander Drive that is close to Hugh MacRae Park, according to Dylan Lee, a spokesman for the city of Wilmington.

The nearest pedestrian crossings are at Oleander and Independence Boulevard to the west and Eastwood and Military Cutoff roads to the east.

There is a Walk Wilmington Pedestrian Plan in development. While not currently funded, the Walk Wilmington Pedestrian Plan calls for crosswalks at Oleander and College and another 12 locations along Oleander Drive, between the Oleander/Independence intersection and the Eastwood/Military Cutoff intersection.
