Do ‘No Through Trucks’ signs on city streets apply to tree trucks?

Julian March
StarNews

Q. Do the posted “No Through Trucks” restrictions apply to the convoys of tree service trucks with trailers and equipment that use that Greenville Loop Road as a through street several times a day?

A. Trucks may only use city streets to reach a destination and must proceed there from the nearest state highway, said Don Bennett, the city’s traffic engineer.

The Wilmington Police Department would enforce the restriction, Bennett said, so it would be up to a police officer to determine whether a violation occurred. To contact the WPD, call 910-343-3600.
