Who owns and maintains the bridge onto Figure Eight Island?

Figure Eight bridge is a privately owned bridge that crosses the Intracoastal Waterway. The current bridge was installed in 1981 and replaced the original bridge that was built in the mid-1960s, according to David Kellam, administrator for the island.

“The Figure Eight Island homeowners association is responsible for all components of the bridge, to include the maintenance and repair and the staff to operate it 24 hours a day,” he said.
