Q. What happened to Walker Farms Produce in Belville? They packed up and left without a peep! And why can’t anything take hold in that building?
A. Walker Farms Produce closed down its operations on June 28, 2014, according to the store’s Facebook page.
Due to the hardships of the N.C. Department of Transportation expanding the road along N.C. 133, the store owners decided to pack up shop as it was going to cut into the store’s parking lot, the Facebook page says.
The transportation department is building a diverging diamond intersection at the area near N.C. 133 and U.S. 74-76.
