Q. Does the Kerr Avenue widening project include the construction of a new interchange at MLK? Will a light be added at Kerr and New Centre?
A. Once all the projects associated with Kerr Avenue are done there will be an interchange there, said N.C. Department of Transportation officials. For now, however, officials are working to widen the roadway to a four-lane road.
Jack Provost, with the DOT, said the current project being done simply widens Kerr from Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway to Randall Parkway.
That said, future projects do include building a interchange at Martin Luther King. And, yes, a signal will be installed at New Centre Drive, Provost said.
