Schools across the state implemented a new student data system last year called Home Base. It tracks students’ grades, attendance and class schedules, among other things, and it’s been rife with problems since it began. Districts in Southeastern North Carolina have had trouble getting accurate enrollment counts, and many teachers have been unable to simply log in to the system.
The system also affected the honor rolls, Quattlebaum said.
“We encountered problems with the accuracy of the reporting system through the new software being utilized statewide. The district has been working with the state to resolve the issue,” she said. “Once the issues are resolved, we will post the honor roll again.”
