Q. I am new to Wilmington. When taking the drivers license test the book says that for accidents that incur over $1,000 in damage you must call the police. What number do you call to get the police to come to the accident site? 911?

A. Yes.

“I would call 911,” said Linda Rawley, WPD’s Police Information/Community Relations Officer. “That will get them to the site the quickest. Plus you can never tell someone might have an injury.”
