Q. There appears to be a couple of state historic markers missing from the cluster of them on River Road in Brunswick County just south of U.S. 74. Have they been permanently removed or relocated?

A. The historical marker signs were moved about a year ago, according to N.C. Department of Transportation officials.

The reason for the move was to bring them closer to Orton Plantation and their designated historical site.
