Clancy & Theys Construction Co. has been building a Wave Transit Operation center since April 25, 2013 at 1480 Castle Hayne Road.
The facility will include nine bays and administrative offices. The groundbreaking operation center will have square footage of approximately 37,000 feet.
In addition to creating a safer and more responsible maintenance and operations center, the facility will include a compressed natural gas fueling station and the authority plans to begin introducing CNG (compressed natural gas) buses shortly after the facility is complete.
Anticipated construction completion date is Nov. 15 for the Wave transit operation center.
