Q. What is being built on the land next to the new Live Oak Bank Building at the end of Pickard Road and Tiburon Drive, behind Verizon?

A. A second building is being added to Live Oak Bank’s campus. It will house employees of Live Oak Bank but also of bank subsidiary nCino, a banking software firm.

The city and county voted in September to offer incentives – a total of $575,000 – to Live Oak to build the structure.

To be eligible for the incentives, the bank needs to make a $16 million investment in a building and add 120 new jobs in Wilmington. The workers would need to make an average salary of $80,000.

Live Oak employs 130 workers in Wilmington, according to the city.
