Q. Who is responsible for maintaining the road to the Walmart shopping center in Leland and when could we expect it to be repaired? It’s in horrible shape with large pot holes that have progressively gotten worse over the past year. Also, all road marking (lane lines, traffic arrows, etc.) have long since faded away.
A. According to Steven Spruill, public works director for the town of Leland, the roads beside Walmart (specifically Ocean Gate Drive) are all owned by the developers in that area, so he’s not sure when the repairs might take place.
However, Spruill drove to the area in question and said there have been repairs done to the road already.
