Q. The gym at Roland-Grise Middle School was named for long-time coach Calvin Wadsworth. The name was removed from the building for painting. It has been several months. When will it be replaced?
A. Roland-Grise Middle School’s gym, along with the rest of the school, was painted this summer, said Principal William Hatch. The hand-painted dedication to coach Calvin Wadsworth was taken down at that time.
The school has put a plaque honoring Wadsworth back up, Hatch said, and they’re planning to purchase a large metal framed sign that dedicates the gym to Wadsworth.
“This will look much better and last longer,” Hatch wrote in an email.
UPDATE: As of May 2014, “We replaced the sign and have just erected a brand new one made of more durable material,” said Hatch. He provided us with this photograph of the new sign.
