All city of Wilmington employees including police officers are subject to the same requirements for medical absences, according to Dylan Lee, the city’s GTV manager.
Employees are given the time required by their doctor subject to FMLA (Family and Medical Leave) and Extended medical leave policies. FMLA guarantees certain rights for eligible employees for up to 12 weeks of absence and extended medical leave gives an additional 12 weeks if approved by the doctors.
