Q. Looking at the four New Hanover County high schools, which football coach has the best winning percentage in his current position?

A. Seven weeks into his 17th season, Hoggard coach Scott Braswell heads the list with a .755 winning percentage. Off to a 6-1 start in 2013, the Vikings are 151-49 in Braswell’s tenure.

Now in his eighth season at New Hanover, Kevin Motsinger has compiled a 60-37 record (.619). Laney’s Greg Ditz is next at 36-49, midway through his sixth season (.424).

At 4-2, Ashley has the chance for its second winning season in school history, but coach Tom Eanes remains at the bottom of the list. The Screaming Eagles have an 8-18 mark (.308) since Eanes took over to begin the 2011 season.
