Q. Why is the land being cleared on N.C. 132 in Castle Hayne near the railroad tracks? Rumor are that it will be a high school. Other rumors are that it will be housing development.

A. There are no plans for that land to be used for a high school, according to New Hanover County spokesperson Charles Smith.

County planning staff said there is no record of any projects proposed at that location at this time.
