Q. Who has responsibility for road maintenance at the railroad crossing on Colonial Drive and Forest Hills Drive? The condition of the road at those crossings is terrible and unsafe.

A. All rail crossings within the city of Wilmington are owned and maintained by CSX, city spokeswoman Malissa Talbert said.

“That said, we are working with CSX on a plan to jointly improve many of the crossings in the city,” she said.

CSX spokeswoman Carla Groleau said work at the railroad crossing should begin soon.

“The company has been in discussions with the city, and has plans to begin work in this area within the next month,” Groleau said.
