Ribbit the Exhibit, 16 life-size frog sculptures by local artist Andy Cobb, is at Airlie Gardens until Sept. 22. StarNews photo by Mike Spencer.
Q. The life-size frog sculptures by local artist Andy Cobb at Airlie Gardens are such an enhancement to the gardens. Has anyone thought about keeping them there permanently?
A. Janine Powell, director of donor relations, said the 16 human-sized frogs can’t stay at Airlie Gardens forever. They have dates to appear at a Florida garden in the spring and other appointments after that. Airlie Gardens has, however, extended the frog exhibit through Sept. 22 because of popular demand, Powell said. And more outside exhibits are planned.
“Our goal is to bring in different exhibits over the next couple of summers,” she said. “We’re in talks for another fun exhibit.”

This is the most perfect exhibit for Airlie. Once they do the circuit, they should come home to retire at Airlie.
