When is DOT going to replace the culvert on Malmo Loop Road? There’s a dip there.

Q. When is the Department of Transportation going to replace the culvert on Malmo Loop Road in Brunswick County? They did one by the rock yard but further up there is a bad dip and has culvert painted on the road. Just curious after they repaved it not too long ago.

A. N.C. Department of Transportation officials were not aware of the problem but will look into it this week, said Trevor Carroll, a bridge maintenance engineer whose territory includes Brunswick County.

“We are going to investigate. (NCDOT) didn’t notice a dip in the road on our other project,” Carroll said. “We didn’t notice anything that would indicate any issue.”

If an issue is identified, “We will do corrective measures or refer it to the Brunswick County maintenance engineer,” Carroll said.
