Michelle Li is now on the staff of WISC-TV in Madison, Wis., said Scott Saxton, news director of WECT and Fox Wilmington. He said Li worked there for a couple of years.
We reached out to Michelle via Facebook and she sent us some additional information.
Michelle Li wrote: I accepted the evening anchor position at WISC-TV in Madison. WISC-TV is the No. 1 station in the market, it’s the legacy station much like WECT. I’ll be anchoring the 6 and the 10 p.m. newscasts (in Central time, we’ve got a 10, not an 11).
While I was at Fox and WECT, we began broadcasting live over YouTube through Google Plus.
Madison is a very liberal, tech-friendly, academic-centric, politically-minded city.
I miss Wilmington but I’ll be back for visits. This was my second time in the Port City (I worked at WWAY with Jon Evans in 2002-2003) so it is one of my “homes.” My husband, Jim Van Dillen, still works at WECT as the news operations manager, so I have to go back at some point anyway!
Here is video of my goodbye: http://youtu.be/s4-0P7osaMM
I’ll still be around online.
