Currently, there are no public showers at Freeman Park in Carolina Beach. However, the town has public showers a few blocks away on Carolina Beach Avenue North, said André R. Mallette, interim human resources officer for the town of Carolina Beach.
As for the fire pit, people building fires must purchase a metal container from a hardware store to build the fire in, according to Alan Griffin, chief of the Carolina Beach Fire Department.
