New Hanover County Schools requires that a child be 4 years old by Aug. 31 for its preschool programs in addition to meeting other qualifying factors, said Ed Adams, principal at Johnson Pre-K center.
The 3-year-olds who miss that age cutoff can attend the county’s Head Start program, which is located at the Johnson Pre-K center on 1100 McRae Street, or a private pre-kindergarten facility. For more information on Head Start programs, call 251-6155.
