Can you pay to go to New Hanover County public schools if you live out of the county?

The New Hanover County Board of Education does not accept out-of-county students even for money, according to New Hanover County Schools  spokesperson Valita Quattlebaum.

The only exception, she said, is for children of NHCS employees.

    Every school day a yellow NHC bus goes into the Salem Woods subdivision in Scotts Hill to pick up a student. Although residents of Scotts Hill have a Wilmington address, it is located in Pender County and some days you have NHC and Pender County school buses in tandem.
