Q. I watched an episode of MTV’s FEAR in which the Ideal factory was investigated for paranormal activity and wondered if the Ideal Cement plant in Castle Hayne truly home to hauntings? And were there really numerous fatal accidents and a suicide there?
A. We were unable to find any credible local sources to answer whether anyone committed suicide at the old Ideal Cement plant in the past.
As for the haunted portion of the question, well, if you believe in that sort of thing, perhaps you could attribute strange happenings there to ghosts.
Do any readers know more about the plant’s history, or have any thoughts about its paranormal status? Let us know in the Comment section below.

1. Maybe this will scare Titan away! lol
2. All kinds of weird things happen in abandoned buildings. Probably hobo suicides or murders. They often camp in these types of facilities and have their own form of order and justice.
3. The starnews should have a dedicated section to reporting on Haunted Houses, ghost stories, and legends. It makes great reading (sell subscription$) and could attract more interest from the paranormal reality shows.
4. What ever happened to the report on the 1101 Country Club Drive home? The MyReporter site crashed and we never got to see if anyone else had haunted stories about the place. Did you ever interview the owners?
We could find no one to tell us that the house on Country Club Drive is haunted. We did not interview the owners of that private residence.
Thanks for the suggestion about a paranormal section for the StarNews. If it works for the Syfy channel, maybe it will work for us.
