Why were police cars around a car at Snow’s Cut Park on March 13?

Q. What occurred at the Snow’s Cut Park picnic area off of River Road below the bridge? The incident was observed on March 13 at approximately 3 p.m. There was a single white Cadillac, with the passenger door open, inside of a large area surrounded by yellow crime tape. There were approximately three New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and two Wilmington Police Department vehicles. One ambulance was observed leaving the scene with no emergency lights displayed. An unmarked detective car was seen in the area the next day.

A. “It was a possible drug overdose with cardiac arrest,” sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer said.

The individual had no pulse and was taken to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services ambulance.

Further information was not immediately available.
