Q. In the MyReporter question www.myreporter.com/?p=17294, the answer says the N.C. Department of Transportation plans to extend Independence Boulevard through to the MLK Parkway. Is there a map available to show exactly how this is going to be accomplished?
A. There is a map and “a great deal of information on the project” at DOT’s website for the project, according to Patrick Riddle, Division 3 project manager.
According to the page, buying up the properties in the right-of-way is scheduled to begin in 2020. The project is unfunded at present.
The website address is www.ncdot.gov/projects/IndependenceBlvd.
