Q. Is there anywhere in Wilmington area to pick up Pecans? Are there any parks or areas that have natural pecan trees that the public can go and pick some up off the ground for free?
A. Sorry, if there are nuts out there for the picking, apparently only the squirrels know.
We checked with the City of Wilmington, as well as the local branch of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension. No one knew of any free nut opportunities in our area.
If anyone has any (legal) suggestions, let us know in the Comments section below.
