Q. The city of Wilmington requires developers to make sidewalks on all their projects. Is the city exempt from its own rules? A sidewalk is needed on Pine Grove Road along the Muni Golf Course and along the Pine Grove side of Hugh MacRae Park. Annexed areas seemed to be forgotten when it comes to sidewalk areas.
A. If the city was developing or redeveloping a property, it would follow the same process that private developers would, said Malissa Talbert, a city spokeswoman.
As an example, Talbert said the city added sidewalks when it rebuilt the Empie Park Fire Station, which reopened earlier this year.
