Q. Why do the lights at baseball fields at the public park in NorthChase stay on all night?
A. Since there are no baseball fields at a public park in NorthChase, you must be referring to Olsen Park, with the entrance on Corporate Drive. The park has five lighted softball fields. Games often end around 11 p.m., according to John Rancke, a supervisor for athletics for the City of Wilmington. He says a staffer remains on site during the games to shut off the lights and lock the gates.
He has received a similar complaint about the lights being on all night. It is the parking lot lights people see between 11 p.m. and sunrise. He does acknowledge, however, the parking lot lights are kind of bright.
