Q. I was told that all boats in the Southport King Mac. tournament had to leave from Lockwood Folly Inlet instead of Southport. Is this true? if so, why?
A. According to a tournament worker, boats in the annual U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament in early October were allowed to leave from four locations, including the Southport Marina, Lockwood Folly Inlet, Baptist Assembly in Caswell Beach and another place near the North and South Carolina state border.
All anglers, however, had to weigh-in at the Southport Marina.
