Q. How much money did City obtain from the Sharks and Hammerheads for concessions in the 2011 year? Not stadium rent, just concessions.

A.According to Dylan Lee, a spokesman for the city of Wilmington, the Sharks operate the food and beverage concessions at their games. They keep 100 percent of the revenue.

For fiscal year 2012 (which ended June 30, 2012), the city grossed $144,601.77 after taxes for all events held at Legion Stadium (Hammerhead’s games, Tiger’s games, New Hanover High School events and special events). After expenses and revenue distributions to the facility users, the City’s net profit was $24,301.25.
